Mission
We work with parents, School Leadership Team (SLT), faculty, administration, Friends of 187, President's Council, Community Education Council (CEC), District 6 Superintendent and D6 Network, and DOE to create the best school environment possible for PS/IS 187 students.
We also:

Hold and support fundraising activities

Plan Activities to sustain parent involvement and participation

Provide access to information and resources
-
Identify issues of concern and work with the SLT to address them

Hold workshops

Run the Class Parent Representative program for direct access to each classroom

PTO General Meeting Information
The PTO monthly general meetings are where the business of PTO gets done. It is the forum where WE as parents and guardians get to have our voices heard.
​
The meetings are a great way to learn about new and ongoing initiatives, hear from the school teachers and administrators, ask questions, contribute ideas, and have direct impact on PTO decisions. MEETINGS ARE OPEN TO ALL PARENTS AND GUARDIANS, and everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. Meetings will be held virtually but are subject to change throughout the school year.
